3.  Minutes of Last AGMThe minutes of the last AGM meeting on 30.11.2021 were taken as 
a true reflection of proceedings by all Committee Members present 
at that meeting.

4. Chairpersons and Booking Officer’s Report combinedLouise Colley reported that we have had a very good year since the last AGM.  Having re-started the Wednesday coffee mornings after various lockdowns in September 2021, we have been having regular meet-ups and new people attending.  Talks and workshops on sweet-pea growing have recently been popular, and we have been visited by the new community police officer, Emma, so that residents can get to know her and discuss any concerns.  Table Tennis has attracted some new participants.Although we have had a bit of expenditure on the building – roofing and brickwork repairs, sewer blockage, exterior lighting repairs – we have had a pleasing income from hirers.  Zumba and Pilates started in March and have continued regularly since then, and a Baby Ballet session has also been added.  Seasons Art finished at the end of August but has now been taken over by a new franchisee, and they have started using the hall on Tuesday mornings.  Yoga ran for about three months but wasn’t well supported so has finished.  Morris Dancers have continued.  Canine Massage is our most reliable long-term hirer. There have been several children’s birthday parties, and various other one-off events.  Feedback from hirers has been very positiveOur committee had been getting smaller over the last couple of years and, despite requests on Facebook, in the newsletter and via email, we didn’t seem to manage to persuade any new people to become involved.  We were simply finding that there were not enough of us to do the things that we wanted to do – such as running events.  So much time is taken up with the routine running of the building, communicating with hirers, being here to show people round, and running the coffee mornings that other events were becoming unmanageable.  We had already got the Photo competition and the Christmas Fair underway, with some stallholders already involved.  However, having written and delivered an “appeal” in July, we invited any interested residents for a drink and a chat at the hall, and now our committee has increased in size dramatically and has provided a new lease of life.  Because of this, we have been able to increase our presence on Facebook, have an IT expert operating the website, have managed to run a Pumpkin trail and gathering at the hall, and have run a very successful Christmas Fair and Elf Hunt, with incredible teamwork and everyone working really hard behind the scenes and on the day.  It has been great having this new lease of life, with all the new members of the team being brilliant – and I’m really looking forward to us all working together as a committee next year. We have also been very pleased with the level of support that the events have received from people in the village. The Photography competition had more entries this year, and the number of people attending the Christmas Fair was astounding!There will be some changes after this AGM.  Angela Barnes has been on the committee for years – at least 10 – mostly as treasurer, but including a stint as Chairperson, too, and she knows more about this place than anyone.  She will be missed and we wish her all the best with her house move. Thank you to all members of the committee and to everyone who has supported the hall over the year.   LC 
6.  Treasurer’s reportAngela Barnes confirmed that the accounts for the financial year ending 20th October 2022 had been audited in line with requirements.  Because of Covid support grants still being available at the start of this financial year, we had received £10,568 in grants, which has been a huge help, especially as some building repair work was needed (mainly roof repairs and the installation of lintels over the windows)We have received more in Booking fees than in 2021 because of the easing of Covid restrictions.The Prize Draw has continued to raise valuable income.Insurance has increased this year.A key point will come in June, when the current electricity contract with EON comes to an end.  We are expecting a significant increase in electricity costs in the second half of the coming financial year.AB
