How do I hire the hall?
Please email us on [email protected]
Can I visit the hall before deciding whether to book?
Yes – please email to ask and we will be happy to show you around.
Can I have a Bouncy Castle for a children’s party?
We do allow small bouncy castles. The hall has quite a low ceiling (2.7 metres) and the Bouncy Castle Hire Companies need to be told of the height. They always know what will fit!
Are tables/chairs included in my hire fee?
Yes.
Do you have wi-fi?
Unfortunately, not at present. Some people have managed to use the hot spot on their phone to access the internet.
Can I hire the play area next to the hall?
The recreation ground (including the children’s play area) is owned by Bromsgrove District Council and is a public space, so is not managed by Bournheath Village Community Centre. You’re welcome to use it, but you need to be aware that other people may be there, too.
Do you have a sound system?
No. You will need to provide your own equipment, which may need to be PAT tested.
How do I clean the hall when I have finished?
We have large brushes, dustpan and brush, vacuum cleaners, anti-viral spray and wipes for you to clean everything that you have used. We do ask people not to wet-mop the main floor. If you hire the hall, this will all be shown to you. The hall needs to be left in a clean state ready for the next hirer. Please remove all your rubbish. There is a general waste bin outside, behind a wooden fence, but, unfortunately, we don’t have separate recycling facilities, so you may want to take your recycling home.
How do I operate the lighting/heating/cooker?
You will be shown how to do this by one of our committee members when you hire the hall. A diagram to show you how to operate the heaters is attached to the wall in the main hall. Please ensure that every individual heater is turned to the “frost” setting at the end of your session.
What should I do if I break/damage anything or if I notice anything that is a health and safety hazard?
Please report it asap – either to the person who collects the key from you, or via email.
