FIERY NIGHT BY DAVID FIELD

FIERY NIGHT BY DAVID FIELD 1
CRITIQUE BY MICHAEL MCILVANEY

Beautiful pastels and a red sky to die for, dominate this image. The landscape is nicely silhouetted but perhaps there is a lack of interest in the foreground. More of that dramatic sky would have created an even stronger image. Good effort!

FURTHER IMAGES FROM BVCC PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION 2020

By now you may have viewed the photographs that were the winner and runner-up in each of the three classifications. Over the next few days, the remaining entries will be shown, in no particular order, together with the critique by Judge Michael McIlvaney.

Golden Glow Over B61 – By Anne Galbraith-Jellie

The image meets the brief well. The viewer’s eye is led across fields, bathed in beautiful golden light, to the houses in the background. The sign in the foreground provides direction as well as context to the image.

ANNUAL BOURNHEATH PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION UPDATE

It’s an exciting day today as the results are in and the winners will be announced as the day goes on. You will see winners and runner-up photographs for each of the three categories, and an overall Best In Show, together with a critique from the Judge Michael McIlvaney for those photographs. Later in the week, the remainder of the entries together with critiques will be shown in no particular order here, on BVCC Facebook, and on the website. At some stage, the photo entries will be pinned on the display boards in the Community Centre, for viewing when the current situation permits. Whilst the entries for the competition were disappointing, the quality of those entries that were submitted for judging was excellent. Thank you to all of those photographers. Certificates and trophies will be given at a later date. Please note the message from Judge Michael enclosed when the photographs were returned judged -“Hi Anne, Please see comments on images in competition. The first two images in each category are 1st place and runner-up respectively – other images are in no particular order. I judged the images and provided comments without knowing author/title. I then added in the author/title.”Thanks Michael 🙂 Michael enjoyed judging our photographs and we hope that you enjoy looking at them too.

PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION 2019 21ST SEPTEMBER

Our Annual Photographic Competition is one of the most popular events that are held in Bournheath Village Community Centre during the year and this year it looks to be even better.

You don’t need to live in Bournheath to enter photographs in any of the three subject classifications; in fact, we encourage photographers from outside our lovely village to take part. Age is no barrier either, as there is an Under 18 class as well as the standard Over 18. The rules are few and very clearly laid out on the Entry Form, which can be downloaded.

So get focused and let us see your photographic entries…..Good luck to you all!
