ANNUAL BOURNHEATH PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION UPDATE

It’s an exciting day today as the results are in and the winners will be announced as the day goes on. You will see winners and runner-up photographs for each of the three categories, and an overall Best In Show, together with a critique from the Judge Michael McIlvaney for those photographs. Later in the week, the remainder of the entries together with critiques will be shown in no particular order here, on BVCC Facebook, and on the website. At some stage, the photo entries will be pinned on the display boards in the Community Centre, for viewing when the current situation permits. Whilst the entries for the competition were disappointing, the quality of those entries that were submitted for judging was excellent. Thank you to all of those photographers. Certificates and trophies will be given at a later date. Please note the message from Judge Michael enclosed when the photographs were returned judged -“Hi Anne, Please see comments on images in competition. The first two images in each category are 1st place and runner-up respectively – other images are in no particular order. I judged the images and provided comments without knowing author/title. I then added in the author/title.”Thanks Michael 🙂 Michael enjoyed judging our photographs and we hope that you enjoy looking at them too.

TABLE-TOP BRING & BUY SALE

TABLE-TOP BRING & BUY SALE 5

It’s that time of year, Springtime when folks are considering redecorating or renewing their wardrobe.  Now is a great time to go through the things you know longer want, they may not fit anymore or you may have never worn them at all!  Every loft has items kept ‘just in case’ and they have been superceded by brand new items.  Problem solved, have a table at our fundraising Table-Top Bring & Buy Sale and free up storage space and wardrobe space.  This is also a great opportunity for Crafters, of which we are fortunate to know a good many; to clear the items left over from Christmas Craft Fairs or to get crafting to replenish items sold.  Whichever reason you have to take a table, we welcome you and the support that you give us.  Every £ raised goes to our Building Fund, which by now you know is to update the toilet facilities to include people of all abilities and to have electrical rewiring done.  We are driven to achieve our aim and we know that perseverance and the growing support we are getting from villagers and friends alike will help us get there.  Please tell your friends and family about this and our other events as we love to see you and it’s great to meet new potential supporters too.  If you can’t make it on the day but would like to donate to the Building Fund please do so via the Donate button on this website.

FUNDRAISING SKITTLES NIGHT

FUNDRAISING SKITTLES NIGHT 7

The fundraising Skittles Night is a great way to meet up with friends old and new, come on your own or bring family and friends.  One thing is for sure and that is we welcome you and the support that you give us.  All you have to do is limber up and turn up with your own liquid refreshments.  There is always much laughter and good-natured banter. In the interval, there’s time for a comfort break and for you to present the stub of your ticket at the servery, it will be exchanged for the curry that you had selected; either chicken or vegetarian, both are delicious.
